Baladi Bellydance Classes

Baladi Bellydance classes provide individuals with the opportunity to experience many types of Bellydance.  Students receive an array of cultural knowledge & practice to enhance their own individual abilities.  From beginner to performer, Jessica can customize the instruction to each individual class & assist with the development of students own unique style, as well as choosing an authentic dance of  choice one may wish to represent.

~Each group of  classes or workshops are progressive, focusing on rhythm, steps, isolation's, technique and choreography.

~During her classes she utilizes various props both traditional & modern.  Students are encouraged to experience the music and she offers an introduction to traditional instruments and music.

~Sometimes a musician may accompany her for a class to demonstrate traditional rhythms and experience the dance with the real live music.

Jessica calls her instructional classes Baladi Bellydance.  Her lessons represent the traditional technique in which the body can move gracefully.  She identifies with the word Baladi as it has many meanings.  It means the country, or country folk.  It also means dance, and some people believe that the word bellydance may have evolved from the word Baladi.  It is also a very common Egyptian rhythm used in most countries where Oriental dance and music lives within it's people.

Bellydance in it's various original formats, is an art form that lives within most living rooms, celebrations and musical gathering in The Middle East & throughout other parts of Europe & Africa.  With respect to it's origins, she regards this dance as a bottomless vessel of rich knowledge & beauty that continually engages and fulfills the mind, body and spirit.
